Arsenal are willing to let Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leave the club next month as long as they receive a suitable offer for the 32-year-old.

Aubameyang was stripped of the club captaincy earlier this month after returning late from an authorised trip abroad.

The Gabon skipper had shared a close relationship with Mikel Arteta but his last disciplinary breach was the latest in a growing line of issues between the duo.

Aubameyang hasn’t featured in a matchday squad since he was stripped of the captaincy and Arteta has shown little indication of extending an olive branch to the striker ahead of the Boxing Day trip to Norwich City.

Though Arteta has not ruled out reintegrating Aubameyang into the group, ESPN report that the club are willing to listen to offers for him next month.

It’s claimed the Gunners are ready to ‘sound out’ Europe’s top clubs to see if they’d be interested in signing the former Dortmund ace but his wages could prove problematic.

Aubameyang earns over £250,000-a-week at the Emirates and few clubs would be able to afford his salary as well as any fee that Arsenal would seek for the forward.

Clubs could look to sign Aubameyang on loan for the remainder of the season and may request that Arsenal fund part of his wages.

Aubameyang’s timekeeping has been a constant issue throughout his career and Arteta feels it has undermined the focus on discipline that he’s tried to instill at the club.

Reports in Italy claim Juventus and Inter Milan could be interested in Aubameyang but they may wait until the end of the season, when the striker will have a year left on his contract.
