Paul Pogba has urged Manchester United fans to not lose faith and insists he will return from his latest injury setback stronger than ever.

Pogba pulled up during a shooting drill on Monday while on international duty with France, limping off the training pitch to receive treatment.

The midfielder has since withdrawn from the French squad ahead of World Cup qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Finland.

Initial reports in France suggest the 28-year-old is facing eight to 10 weeks out with the injury, a development that could serve as a considerable setback for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in his attempts to lead United out of their current malaise.

In a video released on Tuesday evening, Pogba confirmed his injury and explained more tests this week will confirm the severity of the knock.

He said: ‘Hello everybody, I hope you are well. As you can see, I got a little injured, hopefully it is not too bad.

‘I’m probably going to do another scan to see how bad it is. But we are going to come back strong.

‘We don’t lose faith, we don’t lose the positive vibe, keep smiling. Everything happens for a reason, we are going to come back. Thank you for the support.’

If reports in France are accurate, Pogba could be sidelined until the end of the year, at which point he will be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with a club outside the Premier League with his United deal set to expire next summer.
