Once again, Stuff is working with SPCA New Zealand over the Christmas season to share potential pets from across the country who are eagerly awaiting adoption.

When it comes to cuteness, Caramel and Chubby are hard to beat.

This adorable duo came to the SPCA in Auckland with their mum, dad and sister after their previous owner could no longer take care of them.

Caramel appears to be the slightly braver one, taking her brother along on her adventures.

After spending some time in a loving foster home, they’ve started to learn that human company isn’t so bad after all.

Caramel appears to be the brave one, and she helps give her brother the confidence to come along on her adventures.

Both of them love nothing more than snuggling up in their milk-crate bed and shredding their way through a cardboard box. Rummaging around for veggies in a dig box is also a favourite pastime.

Chubby likes to follow his sister’s lead.

Because of their shy natures, Caramel and Chubby would be best suited to a quiet adult home and people who have had experience with bunnies.

Interacting with them at their level and rewarding them with love and praise will go far. All they need is someone with a bit of patience to help them come out of their shells.
